2022 Fu-Mei Pinot Noir Blanc

FU-MEI IS FINALLY AVAILALBE TO ALL!

Fu-Mei, named after original owner Dave Chen's mother, means rich and beautiful in Chinese. This wine, true to its name, is ever a charmer, filled with surprises, wonder, and complexity that delights the palate at every level. Lively, juicy, and round in just the right places on the palate, it takes up the perfect amount of space as it dances through the room. Notes of dragon fruit, pineapple, and papaya are given a lift from a spicy, almost peppery counter note. Tannin is quiet but present throughout, making this a delightful experience as it goes from chilled to room temperature.

Dedicated to Justina's mother's heritage, Juhlia means celebrate in Finnish, and is named for the good time it provides. Our 2023 Juhlia Brut is a sparkling Gamay from the Eola-Amity Hills. This wine is ethereal, effervescent, and a celebration in a glass. Kippis (cheers)!

2022 Wannamaker Vineyard Chardonnay

This single vineyard Chardonnay comes from the Wanamaker Estate Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge. It is barrel fermented and aged sur lie showcasing the spectacular terroir of this unique site. The nose is bouncy and tropical, with papaya and pineapple, but also fresh and vibrant with citrus. Crisp, mouthwatering and mouth softening at the same time, and a dazzling palette of flavors and textures. Think about a Premier Cru Chablis (Dare I? I do): mineral, citrus, and broad-shouldered. This is refreshing yet dizzyingly complex.

2022 Pinot Noir/Syrah Blend

NEW RELEASE!

This unique wine comes from the stunning Wannamaker Vineyard located on the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge AVA. It is 91% Pinot Noir and 9% Syrah. How did this come about you may ask? As Derek was topping barrels in 2022, he ended up topping a few with the left-over Syrah, these barrels were originally intended to go into a large blend. That was until he tried them and, much to his surprise, they were his favorite out of the bunch! Well, you can't simply blend away your favorites, so here we are producing a unique blend of Pinot Noir and Syrah. Think all the lovely nuances of Pinot Noir with the weight, heavier fruit profile and hints of tobacco of a Syrah. Seriously, you have to try it!

2018 10 Acre Pinot Noir

Possibly our most aromatic 10 Acre ever, the nose is explosive with bright red fruit, rose petal, bing cherry, strawberry, and dusty currant throughout. It is a wild, yet restrained nose that has complexity, vibrancy, and nuance. The palate is soft but persistent. Tannin pushes and pulls from front to back and both sides, but pleasantly so, providing a supportive and elegant structure that doesn’t overwhelm. Red cherry, violet, and young blackberries skitter about, and a wash of creme brûlée splashes on the finish. This wine is a real stunner. Slow developing, despite the impressive aromatics on the open, it has extended charms that suggest this will be a long-player, and can be enjoyed for the next 2-8 years.

2018 West Block Pinot Noir

This West Block has all of the hallmarks of our west-facing blocks in a sunny but not completely hot year, punctuated by spice, moderately firm structure, and an angular finish that seems to beg the question, “Just how long will this last?” Because it seems like maybe forever. The nose jumps with cinnamon, clove, dark red fruit, blue fruits, and a kind of Dr. Pepper soupçon. A very good start. The palate is dense, and it seems like it is holding something back upon the open, but the character slowly reveals itself. It is spicy, soft, rich and exceedingly pleasant. A graham cracker crust cherry pie comes to mind with creme Chantilly, and a dusting of cocoa powder as the wine continues is progression. The crisp, angular finish shows a flash of acid and tannin working together to preserve this gem. They’ll keep up the good fight for another 8 years, but I’d for sure try this now to get a sense of it.

2018 Lange Vineyard Pinot Noir

Over the beautiful summer of 2018 we hatched a plan with Jesse Lange (Lange Estate Winery), to trade a couple of tons of Pinot Noir.  He got a few tons of 777 from West Block and we, thankfully, got 3 tons of Pommard from the beautiful Lange Estate Vineyard in the Dundee Hills.  We love this bottle for its lush red fruited nose and its broad and silky palate, we are sure you will too!
